Lead Investigator in Tupac and Biggie Murders Coming to Dublin for Special Event:

“Solved: The Tupac & Biggie Murders”

Vicar Street, Dublin

11th October 2018

Retired LAPD Detective Greg Kading is coming to Dublin on 11th October for a special event in Vicar Street, ‘Solved: The Tupac & Biggie Murders’. Greg led the investigation into the murders of iconic rappers Tupac Shakur and The Notorious B.I.G. in 1996 and 1997, which once again hit the headlines following the successful true crime series on Netflix about the murders. Greg also served as a Co-Executive Producer on the series.

Many people are familiar with the murders, but not the shocking aftermath. In 1997, Detective Russell Poole started digging into the murders, uncovering a ring of corruption that plagued the LAPD and in 2007, Detective Greg Kading re-opened Poole’s cold case with the help of a federal task force to find the truth. His investigation ultimately confirmed what many suspected - the murders of the two Hip Hop icons were linked.

Greg Kading spent the majority of his career assigned to federal task forces investigating complex criminal organisations. Greg’s field of expertise was drug, gang and homicide investigations. In 2010, Greg retired from the LAPD’s elite Robbery Homicide Division after 25 years of service. Later that year, he published his book, Murder Rap: The Untold Story of the Biggie Smalls and Tupac Shakur Murder Investigations. This year that book was used as the basis for the Netflix series ‘Unsolved: The Murders of Tupac and the Notorious B.I.G.’

The Vicar Street event is brought to you by Republic Marketing, and will be hosted by Eric Davidson, founder and editor of District Magazine. Eric will be speaking to Greg about all elements of the case and will also be taking questions from the audience on the night.
